If you struggle with being able to successfully lose weight, then the information and resources on this website may be helpful to you. Instead of weight loss being a struggle, learn how to make weight loss easy on yourself emotionally, physically, financially, and even interpersonally.

For years clinical psychologist Reginald B. Humphreys, Ph.D. has been teaching fellow psychologists, physicians, and licensed psychotherapists of all types, his personally developed clinical approaches to weight loss and personal lifestyle management. These approaches, always presented as part of accredited continuing education programs for licensed health care professionals, are now available in summary form within this website. These materials, although brief, give an overview of the approaches used and promoted by Dr. Humphreys for achieving successful weight control.

Dr. Humphreys has promoted the use of dietary control to assist individuals in recovering from chronic fatigue and depression, as well as from various other forms of mood or emotional instability. For this reason, the beneficial effect of weight loss may actually be a by-product of a therapeutic dietary correction which was originally intended to correct an emotional or psychological problem.

Weight correction, which means altering one's weight in the direction of one's "healthiest" weight, usually brings with it so many other important improvements in health that it is almost always in the person's best interest to strive towards whatever correction is needed. While some would argue that it is "shallow" to overemphasize weight and appearance, moderateness in diet and intake remains a high priority core health value even when all the connections to superficiality and appearances are severed.

We have been professionally reviewing the weigh loss literature for years, in addition to providing clinical weight loss services. We do not suppose that our unique approaches to weight management are the only good approaches available. In fact, we believe in the validity of many different types of diet and approaches to diet. For this reason, we also provide extensive references to available diet literature, and also links to other resources and approaches which we believe in and recommend along with our own.

To get the reader started immediately, we have three initial offerings: 2 separate readings on the subject of weight loss, and the complete bibliography from our upcoming book "Mind Over Fat"
